MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED YABU MEIZAN
Of high-shouldered ovoid form with an upright neck and fitted with a splayed cover rising to a lotus-bud knop, painted on the body in colored enamels and gilt with a continuous landscape of villages along the shoreline, figures, boats and distant mountains, all below large wisteria vines reserved on a ground of gilded dots, the upright collar painted with alternating floral roundels which are echoed on the edge of the cover surrounding dense clusters of florets--9 7/8in. (25.2cm.) high
