A SILVER PLATED SOUP TUREEN ON STAND AND A SILVER SOUP LADLE, maker's mark of Gorham, circa 1875, the compressed oval tureen on spreading oval base supported by the conforming detachable molded oval stand on four bracket feet, each applied with monogrammed reserve, with die-rolled Greek key rims, the tureen applied at each end with naturalistically cast ram's head handle, the detachable molded low domed cover with cut out for ladle, topped by cube form finial applied two sides with stag's mask and two sides with boar's mask--length over handles 15in. (38cm.), the ladle with initialled, double-lipped gilt bowl and cast owl form terminal--12in. (30cm.), the ladle 5oz.
