A FRENCH SILVER AND GEM-SET DRESSING TABLE SET FOR THE RUSSIAN MARKET
SIGNED BOUCHERON PARIS-MOSCOU, CIRCA 1905, WITH RUSSIAN IMPORT MARKS

Comprising a hand mirror, powder jar cover, three caps for perfume and lotion bottles, and a rectangular table box cover (glass elements lacking), each cast and chased with peacocks, butterflies, dragonflies, and other members of the insect kingdom, and scrolling foliage all in the Art Nouveau taste, the pieces individually set with citrines, amethysts, sapphires, moonstones, and other colored stones

Mme. Friederich Köchli, wife of the renowned Russian Court Jeweler, and thence by descent to the present owner.

Lot Essay

These pieces were a wedding gift to the bride of Russian jeweler Friederich Köchli, and were kept by her after leaving Russia during the revolution. See also the note for the preceeding lot.
