A DERBY SALMON-GROUND TOPOGRAPHICAL PART DESSERT SERVICE
CIRCA 1815, IRON-RED CROWN, CROSSED BATONS AND D MARKS
Finely painted in muted tones with British and Continental river scenes names in iron-red script on the undersides, the border gilt with rich foliate scrolls terminating in green dots and enclosing puce stylized smoking braziers on the salmon ground, gilt rims worn, some kiln spitting to the underside, comprising:
A rectangular two-handled compote, 12 1/2in. (31.7cm.) long
Two sauce tureens, covers and stands, 8 1/8in. (20.7cm.) diam.
Two scalloped oval dishes, 12 1/8in. (30.8cm.) long
Two shell-shaped dishes, 9 3/8in. (23.8cm.) long
Four lozenge-shaped dishes, 11in. (28cm.) long
Fourteen dessert plates, 9 7/8in. (22.8cm.) diam. (27)
