Property of BLIND SPOT Sold to Benefit MTS (Mobilizing Talents & Skills) Blind Spot, the semi-annual journal of contemporary photography presents never-before published work of known and unknown photographers in the context of a lavishly printed, design driven magazine. Blind Spot's commitment to photography extends to fund-raising for human rights and AIDS charities as well (see: Christie's, New York, April 23, 1996, lots 454-495). The following 12 lots have generously been donated to Blind Spot by the artists and their galleries to be sold to benefit MTS. Mobilizing Talents & Skills is a not-for-profit organization providing employment services to men and women with HIV/AIDS. Begun in 1988, MTS is guided by the motto, "Employment is a Treatment That Works". In observing various treatments MTS has found that employed patients lead longer lives. The organization has grown to helping approximately 800 clients in 1996 get vocational training and job placement so that they can continue living and working with their diagnosis while leading productive lives. MTS is the only organization whose mission is to increase public awareness of the connection between health and employment and meeting the employment needs of men and women with HIV/AIDS. Christie's is honored to be of assistance in selling lots 421-432 on behalf of MTS. Showing its appreciation for fine photography, and recognition of MTS as an outstanding agency of its kind, Calvin Klein has provided generous support for the benefit exhibition and auction. Christie's also gratefully acknowledges the assistance of Kim Zorn Caputo and Edward Robinson of Blind Spot. Other support has also been thoughtfully donated by Paolo Balducci Gallery, New York, Frames, NY and Lexington Photo Labs.
