[MUSIC]. MENDELSSOHN BARTHOLDY, FELIX, 1809-1847. Autograph note signed ("Felix Mendelssohn Batholdy"), Dusseldorf, 10 June 1834. 1/2 page, 4to, 221 x 184mm. (7 1/4 x 8 3/4 in.), lightly browned, in German. A typical note in Mendelssohn's elegant German script, announcing to Herr Leopold Lindenau in Hamburg that he is sending him a package wrapped in linen addressed to "L.L." containing manuscript and printed music valued at 30 guilders. This note was written at the time that Mendelssohn was the city music director in Dusseldorf, where he concentrated on the revival of Handel's oratorios and on reforming the city theatre in line with Goethe's reforms at Weimar.
