A SET OF FOUR GEORGE III MAHOGANY DINING-CHAIRS
circa 1760, after a design by Thomas Chippendale
Each foliate-carved crest over a similar pierced splat above a padded seat covered in close-nailed patterned beige silk, on square tapering panelled legs carved with trailing bellflowers with square molded feet, one inscribed in chalk 3444 and one with printed paper label ART TREASURES EXHIBITION CHRISTIE'S 1932 NO.163 BRITISH ANTIQUE DEALERS ASSOCIATION, one lacking carved element to splat, three chairs inscribed respectively in pen No. 2, No. 7 and No. 8 (4)
