A GERMAN SILVER GILT EWER AND BASIN, 20th century, the long necked, partly lobed, baluster ewer on molded domed base, the lobes divided by foliage, the flaring shoulder engraved with rose band, with squat spout, multi-scroll handle, the hinged molded raised cover covering spout, and topped by foliate square finial--11½in. (29.2cm.) high, the partly lobed, circular basin centering engraved dove, the broad everted border applied with symbolic figures of the four gospels of Matthew, Luke, John and Mark, engraved between with differing floral sprays, with applied reeded rim--12½in.
