A SILVER TANKARD, bearing marks for London, 1696, later chased, cylindrical, with acanthus band below applied girdle, the sides chased with large flowers centering vacant shaped oval cartouche enclosed by foliate scrolls and topped by rocaille, the scroll handle (possibly replaced) topped by recumbent lion thumbpiece to the flat topped hinged, decorated cover, gilt lined--8in. (20.3cm.) high, 28oz.
