The frame unusually made with circular lower section terminating in the brass mercury cistern bulb, the upper part of rectangular section with hinged door opening to reveal a mercury thermometer on the inside of the door and the barometer vernier scale adjusted by a bone knob below, signed on a brass plate above Cary, London and surmounted by a ring handle; with original mahogany travelling case
