The first carved as the fierce Buddhist guardian deity Fudo Myo-o, holding his traditional attributes, a sword and lasso, himotoshi from the back to the base, unsigned; the second modelled in the form of a monk beating on a drum and chanting, signed Shuosai on the base, himotoshi drilled through the back--2 and 1 3/8in, (5.1 and 3.7cm.) high (2)
