The inro of oval section decorated in iro-e takamaki-e with Shoki howling in rage at two demons attempting to escape on the reverse, the one climbing on the back of the other, against a diaperwork ground designed in gold hiramaki-e, with red lacquer cord runners, interior cases in nashiji; fitted with a faceted cornelian ojime and a lacquered wood netsuke carved as a man holding up a mask--4 5/8in. (10.8cm.) high, small chips
