Lot Essay

The earlier game against Gloucestershire ended in a dignified draw with A. O. Jones contributing 147 and Shrewsbury 167 not out to Nottinghamshire's first innings score of 450, while Gloucestershire reached the still higher first innings total of 462 with the help of W. H. Wrathall's 148, T. Langdon's 67 and Jessop's 58. In the later match, Shrewsbury helped Notts to triumph with a spectacular century in each innings, and though Jessop had made 126 for Gloucestershire in the first innings, Waas and Hallam bowled his side out for 83 in the second.
