BREAKFRONT DISPLAY SIDE CABINET

By Solomon Barter, with moulded cornice above a frieze with ribbon-tied flower swags and centred by an oval above a glazed panel door with lambrequin glazing bars flanked by two doors each with a musical trophy, the lower section with a bowed cupboard door flanked by four hinged fall panels on square tapering legs and spade feet

with two framed certificates presented to Mr. Soloman Barter, one from the Joint Committee on Manual Training and one from The National Association of Manual Training Teachers (3)
Mr. Solomon Barter was a member of the joint committee on Manual Training and the National Association of Manual Training Teachers and was for ten years the chairman of the Executive Council. Whilst chairman he was instrumental in ensuring that a system of manual training in woodwork was introduced into primary schools. This cabinet is a fine example of his work.
