of ivory silk figured with a tiny check design, the latchets, pointed tongue and edges bound with crimson silk, the pointed toe embroidered in crimson and ivory silk with a flower stem within a scallopped border, with crimson ribbed silk covered heel of 2in. (5cm), lined in cream kid and inscribed M B Rowse, 1780s
