Of broad cylindrical shape, the exterior lightly carved with a simple landscape comprising a solitary sampan in a vast lake between trees and dwellings around the base and distant mountains and an inscription around the rim, the interior of the base carved with a flower, the heavy wood of characteristic purplish tone with feathery graining, dated Xianfeng, first year, spring, second month corresponding to A.D 1851, with one seal of the artist, Zhishan, 8 1/4 in.
