A SMALL WHITE JADE CARVING OF A RECUMBENT DEER
17TH/18TH CENTURY

Finely carved with legs tucked beneath it and head pointed forward and tilted back, the unusually well defined details include the eyes, antlers and hooves, the tail marked with light incisions, the fur incised with scattered starbursts, the softly polished stone of mottled white tone with a pale russet vein and russet 'skin' highlighting one leg
