cover -- 1870-71, a facinating group of envelopes from Gravesend addressed to Major C.W. Burton, Royal Marine Battalion, four are addressed to "H.M.S. 'Princess Charlotte', Hong Kong/If left to be forwarded" and eight to "The Camp, Yokohama", bearing a variety of adhesives making the 1/- then 1/3d. rate and nine show the British P.O. in Yokohama arrival c.d.s. in blue. Several covers are rather ragged and a few stamps have faults, a rare and desirable assembly nevertheless. (12)
