A VERY RARE INSCRIBED SHANG-STYLE BRONZE CENSER, FANGDING
YONGZHENG MARK IN A HORIZONTAL LINE AND OF THE PERIOD
Cast on each face in shallow relief with taotie masks on a ground of tight square spirals below a band of archaistic dragons, divided by vertical shaped flanges at the centres and angles, the flat rim with upright recessed D-shaped handles, the domed cover pierced with sinuous archaistic dragons flanking shou characters in medallions, all standing on four stylized legs, the nianhao and dedication inscribed in a line on the flat rim
