A CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON DISH
YUAN/EARLY MING DYNASTY

The centre of the interior freely carved with a lotus spray enclosed within a double-line border, the exterior undecorated, covered with a celadon glaze of warm olive-green tone, the base with a ring burnt orange in the firing
13 1/8 in. (33.5 cm.) diam.

Previously sold in Hong Kong, 24 November 1987, lot 10.

A similar dish with a larger lotus spray in the centre is illustrated by Krahl, Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum, Istanbul, Vol. I, cat. no. 422.
