Yuan dynasty Junyao vases of this shape are quite rare, however the present example can be compared to two related meiping, one with purple splashes from the J.P. Morgan collection now in The Matsuoka Museum of Art, illustrated in Selected Masterpieces of Oriental Ceramics, pl. 35; another more heavily potted example in the Koger Collection is illustrated by Ayers, Chinese Ceramics, no. 27.
