TWO OWNERS FROM NEW
1974 JAGUAR E-TYPE V12 SERIES III ROADSTER
Chassis No. UE1S25647
White with navy blue leather interior
Engine: V12, 5,343cc, 241bhp at 4,750rpm; Gearbox: 4-speed manual Suspension: independent front and rear; Brakes: hydraulic disc. Left hand drive.
Launched in 1961, the E-Type Jaguar displayed the superb lines of its illustrious ancestry. Built to succeed the XK range, the model's sleek and flowing form was an immediate sensation. Originally powered by a 3.8 litre engine and later upgraded to a 4.2, the car also received four wheel disc brakes and fully independent suspension. The E-Type became an even more superior performance car in 1971 when the 5.3 litre V12 (Jaguar's first new engine since the debut of the XK 120) was made available. With 241 horsepower and the smooth V12, the Jaguar was a refined yet exciting car. Prior to 1971, only Ferrari and Lamborghini provided this combination, but with less refinement and at a much higher price.
The 1974 E-Type on offer by the vendor is reported as having 34,000 miles since new. The reported low mileage of the car makes this Jaguar a truly interesting property and warrants the attention of any E-Type enthusiast. Unlike many of the E-Types imported to the U.S. this particular example is a rare 4-speed manual allowing the driver to utilize the powerful V12 to its maximum 241bhp.
The current owner and vendor puchased the car several years ago and has since repainted the car in its original white. Since assuming ownership as the Jaguar's second owner, the vendor reports having driven the car sparingly adding a meager 2000 miles to the odometer. Taking great pains to preserve the car's originality, both the new canvas soft top and the recently re-upholstered navy blue Connolly leather interior are correct and to the original specifications. The Jaguar was recently fitted with a new set of original wire spoke rims and new tires and is reported as being in excellent driving condition.
