.About the vintage: "Made under most favourable circumstances, though ravages of phylloxera noted--one quinta, whose production averaged fifty pipes in the mid-1840's, was reduced to two pipes in 1870. (Ridley's Wine Trade Monthly). Nineteen port houses declared and shipped this vintage, the greatest between 1863 and 1878." GVWB
