"Overall, Lafite '59 has a deep lively appearance, ruby centre, grading off to a fine, mature rim; marvellously fragrant bouquet, touch of vanilla, cedar, citrus fruit, spice--it keeps evolving in the glass. Distinctly on the sweet side--ripe grapes, alcohol, extract, all the appropriate component parts. Fairly full-bodied, crisp, firm, yet fleshy, lovely flavour and great length." GVWB
