4pp. menu card Complimentary Dinner to Capt.Scott, C.V.O., R.N., and Officers of the "Terra Nova." To be held at the Royal Hotel On Monday, 13th June, 1910... Given by Members of the Commercial Community of Cardiff. 8vo (20.3 x 12.5cm). 4pp., the upper cover printed in gilt, the remaining pages in brown, the cover SIGNED IN PEN OR PENCIL BY SCOTT, WILSON, BOWERS, Evans, Murray Levick, Atkinson, G.C.Simpson, H.L.Pennelll and two others;
[Together with:] Edward EVANS, Lord Mountevans (1881-1957). A placement card (?)for the same dinner (48 x 76mm.) "Lieut. E.R.G.R.Evans, R.N." typed on recto, autograph pencilled note, initialled, on verso "I must thank you for the ash Trays -- They came from you didnt they E.E."

FINE MEMENTOES OF THE FINAL OFFICIAL ENGAGEMENT BEFORE THE TERRA NOVA SET SAIL FOR THE SOUTH. She had left London on 1st June and called in at Cardiff on a final scheduled coaling stop. The hospitality with which the expedition was met was quite overwhelming and was remarked on by Evans "It only remains to acknowledge the unbounded hospitality of the Cardiff citizens... who docked and coaled the ship for us, gave freely in money and kind, and made their generosity so felt that Captain Scott promised that Cardiff should be the home port of the Terra Nova" (Scott's Last Expedition II, p.499).
