Lot Essay

In Thunderball Fiona Volpe is seen wearing the ornate necklace with an ice blue cocktail dress and matching feather boa, when following their lovemaking she shows her true colours and forces James Bond [Sean Connery] to go with her and two of Largo's henchmen somewhere 'interesting' to talk. Although Bond manages to escape through the Junkanoo, they catch up with him at the Kiss Kiss club where Volpe cuts in on his dance. It is here that Bond manages to outwit his pursuers, his quick actions causing the bullet meant for him to hit Fiona in the back, killing her instantly. Bond puts her down in a chair beside an unsuspecting couple adding one of his famous quips ..Mind if my friend sits this one out -- she's just dead!

The vendor purchased this necklace at the end of the production from Eileen Sullivan, wardrobe mistress on Thunderball.
