Lot Essay

In Thunderball life belts such as the one in this lot and lot 214 are seen on the outside of the saloon on the bow section of Emilio Largo's luxury motor yacht Disco Volante. Largo's yacht had a significant role in the film, the ship had a number of hidden secrets including underwater doors, and the ability to break into two - the wheel house and bow section transforming into a fast-moving hyrdrofoil in the film's dramatic final sequence.
