Horatio Nelson 1801 (24 Jan.) one page letter in his hand, addressed to Lady Hamilton and signed on the address panel "Nelson"; the contents include "Tell Lord Holland I was very sorry not to have called but you know my intentions and how sensible I am of his goodness to me when I was last in England and although in the way of wishing well to our dear Country we may think differently, yet I am sure we both love her equally, and would lay down our lives if necessary to save her from being humbled by France". Marked in manuscript "Plymouth Dock" on the front together with identical postal marking and fine red wax seal. A lovely item. Photo
