cover 1811 (29 May) entire letter from George Cranstown at Cadiz to his brother in Edinburgh, the address panel with very fine strike of the blue-green "CADIZ/JU 10/1811/F" applied on arrival at Falmouth, with red arrival datestamp adjacent, the contents with interesting reference to the defeat at "the battle of Barrosa and the surrender of Badajoz..... as usual a great deal of British blood has been spilt" and continues giving praise to the gallantry of the allied Spanish forces; fine, attractive and scarce.
