A MIDDLE KINGDOM STEATITE STELE OF A HUSBAND AND WIFE
DYNASTY XII (1991-1783 B.C.)
The standing couple in high relief holding hands, the male official wearing a baggy wig and long wrapover kilt which has a diagonal fold and is tied at the waist, his right hand clasped at his side, his wife dressed in a tripartite wig and a long dress with collar, her left hand across her waist, on an integral rectangular base with high back support with rounded corners
