A LARGE BYZANTINE DEDICATORY TERRACOTTA RELIEF TILE FOR BISHOP MARCIANUS
MID-7TH CENTURY A.D.
Rectangular, with moulded decoration comprising a central Chi-Rho flanked by Alpha and Omega, two rosettes at the base, with two columns on either side surmounted by a semicircular arch decorated with shell motif, the arch flanked by two dolphins, an inscription on the left reads "SALVO EPIS(COPO)" and on the right "MARCIANO", repair across upper left corner
