Basically late 16th early 17th Century, probably Parma
The moulded rectangular top above a frieze-drawer flanked by fluted volutes, above a panelled door enclosing a shelf and flanked on each side by stop-fluted pilasters above a rectangular panel, with panelled sides, above a gadrooned tapering moulding, on paw feet, restorations
40 in. (102 cm.) high; 31¾ in. (80.5 cm.) wide; 17 in. (43.5 cm.) deep

Lot Essay

This credenza relates closely to one that previously furnished a villa in Parma and an armoire in the Rocca collection, Fontanellato (G. Crillo, G. Godi, Il Mobile a Parma fra Barocco e Romanticismo 1600-1860, Parma, 1983, pp. 42-43, figs. 75 and 79, respectively).
