An unusual French weighted Tightrope Cyclist toy
modelled as a clown riding a Pennyfarthing, the clown with domed bisque head, closed mouth, dark eyes, metal hands and original pink striped silk outfit trimmed with lace and bells, riding a diecast metal Pennyfarthing with groove round wheels which enables it to stay on a tightrope with the help of a weight suspended on a wire beneath -- 12in. (30cm.) high, Late 19th Century, head by Kling (large wheel damaged, silk faded and melting in places)
