The hood with later wavy cresting and fluted columns with brass Corinthian capitals, with tracery arch trunk door flanked by three-quarter pilasters, on plinth with quatreform panel and wavy skirting, the painted dial with rolling moon in the arch, stylized bats' wing spandrels, with re-touched signature Rich.d Cole Ipswich to the centre with seconds ring (hand lacking) and date aperture, minute hand damaged, with falseplate stamped WILSON to the later associated four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; associated, case second quarter 19th century and adapted, dial late 18th century
