Lot Essay

The unusual inlaid dotted swags across the skirt of the table illustrated here is remninscent of the dots seperating the husks on two card tables attributed to John (1738-1818) and Thomas Seymour (1771-1878); illustrated in Flanigan, American Furniture in the Kaufman Coleection (New York, 1986), p. 178. fig. 70 and Sotheby's New York, January 18, 1998, lot 1440.
