Lot Essay

In May-June 1932 Edgard Tytgat sailed with his company from Antwerp towards Dordrecht and the Haringvliet where they called at Hellevoetsluis. On their way home they sailed through the Easterscheldt and passed Veere and Vlissingen. According to Mrs F. van Vloten, Kunstschrift 1998, the present lot has been executed during their return to Kleverskerk. The churchtower of this village is depicted in this lot.
