Lot Essay

Lily Yeats, sister of the poet W.B. Yeats, was a close friend of May Morris and was employed 1886-94 as an embroideress by Morris & Co. She subsequently managed the textile section of the Dun Emer Guild, which she co-founded in 1902 in Dublin together with her sister, Elizabeth Yeats and Evelyn Gleeson.
