The shaped case with foliate-pierced sides, surmounted by a putto with a lyre, with foliage behind, the circular white enamel dial with Roman numerals, Arabic minute divisions and pierced hands, signed DELAFONTAINE/FABT DE BRONZES/PARIS, with twin-train movement with countwheel striking on a bell, with musical trophies below and on scrolled feet, on scrolling acanthus-cast shaped base

Lot Essay
The fondeur P. M. Delafontaine, active around 1860, produced work of the highest quality and was a chief competitor of the Barbedienne foundry during the second half of the 19th century.
