A George III silver vase and pedestal
maker's mark of Paul Storr, London, 1815
the octagonal pedestal on square plinth on four lion's paw's feet, chased with bands of acanthus foliage, the vase formed as the Warwick vase on a square plinth, with spreading foot, the lower part of the body cast and chased with acanthus foliage, the sides with classical masks, lion's pelts, on a matted ground, applied beneath the egg-and-dart rim with a band of trailing vines, with two reeded entwined vine handles, marked on vase body and pedestal, the vase engraved on the reverse with the initial B, the pedestal stamped on the reverse with the number 537
