Compare with a similarly-shaped dish excavated from the Dayao Kiln site at Longquan illustrated in Longquan Qingei Yanjiu, pl. 21, fig. 4; and another in the British Museum, from the Riesco collection, illustrated by Gray, Sung Porcelain and Stoneware, pl. 109.
The shape is no doubt inspired by metal wares of the period and can be compared to a silver dish in the Shanghai Museum excavated from the tombs belonging to the court painter Ren Renfa and his family, burried in 1327 and 1353, illustrated in Zhongguo Meishu Qianji, Jin Yin Boli Falang Qi, pl. 146.
