A pair of late large famille verte jardinieres
with flattened everted rims, painted and gilt with continuous scenes of warriors in combat on horseback and on foot, wielding swords, spears, daggers and shields before encampments in rocky landscapes, all below bands of ruyi and lappet panels of lotus flowers and scrolling foliage, the rims with chevron designs containing demi-florets and dragon cartouches on geometric pattern grounds -- 21½in. (54.5cm.) diam, 20th Century.
