Lot Essay

The use of naturally bent branches was common in the Highlands of Scotland where sections were used for chairparts, field rollers and animal backpack supports. The maker of this chair could clearly locate only one bent section which he used for the seatframe; the arms being made from straight sections jointed at the rear.
