A SET OF SIX LOUIS XVI WHITE-PAINTED CHAISES
Circa 1780, four stamped I. AVISSE, two stamped C. SENE
Each with arched rectangular back and bowed seat covered in floral cotton, carved with ribbon and leaves, on turned tapering stop-fluted legs (6)
Provenance
By family tradition, this set was given by Louis XV to the Abb de Mostuejouls, sous-prcepteur to the Enfants de France (future Louis XVI, Louis XVII and Charles X) and had remained in the family until sold Christie's Monaco, 3 July 1993, lot 153
