A BRONZE MINIATURE CABINET
meiji period (late 19th century), signed kyoto inoue sei
Inlaid in silver, shakudo, copper and gilt takazogan, the doors and the back with crows perched on a cherry tree and sparrows in flight above chrysanthemums, the sides with cherry trees and iris with an egret, the top with phoenix and paulownia, the interior fitted with assorted drawers of sentoku inlaid similarly to the exterior in iro-e takazogan with birds in flight, deer on rocks, boats in the lake, and Mount Fuji on the back of the cabinet, the knobs formed as birds and a boat, the interior of the door decorated in kebori, gold and silver hirazogan with geese
