THREE WOOD NOH MASKS
edo period (19th century), the second sealed tenkaichi yukan
The first carved to represent the character Heita (a man), hair and moustache painted red and black on a orange ground, the interior lacquered black; the second representing the character Chujo or Waka Otoko (officer or young man), the hair, eyebrows and upper teeth painted black, the lips in red, the face beige; and the third carved as the character Yase Otoko, with high cheek bones
All approx. 8in. (20.2cm.) long (3)
