Maker's mark of Peter Archambo, London, 1740
Shaped oval, on four openwork lion's-mask and rocaille feet joined by an openwork foliate scroll apron with an espagnolette on each side, the sides pierced with fretwork and foliate scrolls, the cast openwork everted rim with grapevines and rocaille, the overhead swing handle with flowers and rocaille and fully modelled putti holding flowers at joins, the field engraved with a coat-of-arms against mantling and flat-chased with grapevines amid rocaille on a matte ground along the edge, marked under base
