These chairs are of the same model as a set of eight sold from the Estate of Dorothy B. Hammerstein, Sotheby's New York, 23 January 1988, lot 224. Two from the set were later sold from the Collection of Vernay & Jussel, Sotheby's New York, 21 January 1995, lot 341.
