Slightly tapering étui-à-cire of navette-shaped section, both sides of the cover enamelled with oval reserves depicting dogs at various pursuits against a blue background, both sides of the base decorated with similar reserves painted with young peasant girls, all the four reserves framed by opaque white enamel bands and surrounded by bows, festoons and scrolls in white basse-taille enamel, the borders of cover and base enamelled with white and blue stripes, the domed top decorated with a white enamelled basse-taille rosette, the raised rims of bright-cut gold
