A similar pair of silver-gilt mounted glass butter-dishes on winged female bust feet by Biennais, circa 1809-1810, formed part of a magnificent tea-service made for the Emperor Napoléon. These are now in the Louvre Museum, Paris. (see A.-M. Nisbet and V.-A. Massena L'Empire à table, Paris, 1988, illustrated p. 187.)
