A FRENCH GILT BRASS AND SÈVRES PATTERN PORCELAIN MANTEL CLOCK
Late 19th Century
The movement with outside countwheel striking on a single bell, inscribed HY. Marc, Paris, the white enamel dial with blue Roman hour numerals and black Arabic minute numerals, inscribed Hry. Marc, Paris, enclosed by a bevelled glazed circular glass door with beaded bezel, flanked on either side by a bowed turquoise and gilt embellished porcelain panel painted with two female figures within a wooded landscape, in D-shaped case, the pediment formed as two draped putto holding bunches of grapes on a naturalistic ground, the pierced base formed as entwined vine leaves and centred by an oval porcelain plaque painted with a flowerspray, on scrolled supports
